CHAPTER 4

A loud knock at the window shocked Ohno from his sleep. He looked around. It was dark and the only light he can see was coming from his alarm clock, and the clock shows 4am. He kept still on his bed. Then he heard it again. It starts with a soft knock then the knock getting louder and louder. The knock later continues with a soft whispering calling his name. Then he saw that someone is at his window. He fell of from the bed because of shock and crawl headed toward the window. When he gets closer, he saw it was Aiba.

“Man, what are you doing here at this time?” he asked when he opened the window to let Aiba in.

Ohno want to ask more but stopped when he saw Aiba headed to the window and shuts it quickly. There was terror in his face.

“I saw a ghost!” That’s was all Aiba said for his explanation.

“Whoa dude, there is no ghost,” Ohno said, looking at Aiba as he was mad.

“There is, I saw one when I was looking for my supper,” Aiba said, exasperatedly.

“Maybe it is Masami,”

“Masami got brown hair and the ghost is blond, it’s the same girl that I’ve kept dreaming on,”

“The same girl in you dream? What girl?”

“Starting from the last two month, I’ve been having the same dream over and over again. There is a blond girl about our age. This girl kept asking me to help her to find something. But until now I still don’t know what it is, and she kept showing up in my dream almost every night this last few nights,” AIba begin to explain “Before this I just thought it was just a dream until later she shows up in front of me, then I realize she is for real.”

Ohno looked at his best friend. Aiba sometimes can be a nutcase. Maybe he just wants to prank him but by the expression on Aiba’s face shows he was scared and he is sweating like hell now.

“How do you know it was a ghost?”

Aiba looked into Ohno’s black eyes.

“She appeared in front of me with transparent figure and then disappears into thin air minutes later.”

“So Jun, what do you got?” Masami asked as she sat in the library with Nino and Jun, before the first morning class bell rings.

“Well, there is no one I can match up with in the school registration,” Jun answered.

“Have you looked at all the pictures since the school was opened?”

“Yeah, I’ve check every detail,”

“So maybe the blond wasn’t from here,” Nino concluded.

“She’s from here. Maybe we just didn’t dig enough,” Masami said, looking unsatisfied. She had a strong feeling the girl in her dreams was from here. Something happened to this girl. It’s already strange enough for her when she started having those dreams after the accident which happened to be a fatal one. She feels that she seem to be connected to the other realm of people. Only Nino and Jun knows her secret. She hid the fact from her twin, since after the accident, Masaki and her doesn’t even to be the same as it used to be. They didn’t even spent time like they were used to, talked about weird stuff and argue over some stupid things. After the accident it seems everything breaks apart even for the twin’s relationship.

“There is something I did found in the school registration,” Jun was whispering as he looked at his right and left, making sure nobody is eavesdropping.

Nino and Masami stares at him with interest.

“What is it?” they asked simultaneously.

“Well there is one section that contains a file name CLASSIFIED STUDENT’S REGISTRATION” Jun began.

Nino and Masami listened patiently.

“What I thought about the file was, it do contain the info we might find about some other students that wasn’t in the school list,”

“Wait a minute,” Masami interrupted “What do you mean by ‘What I thought’?” Masami asked making the quotation mark with her hands.

“I can’t crack the file,” Jun admitted.

“Oh that’s too bad,” Masami said. “Maybe the files have the answer we are looking for,”

“But I do know where we can get it besides the computer,” Jun said, mischievously.

“How?” Nino asked.

“In this library, at the counter, there is a basement leads to the school secret vault,”

“What?” Nino and Masami said out loud, forgetting that they are at the library.

Everyone hushed them and Taka-san eyed them with angry glances.

“How do you know about that?” Nino asked.

Jun grinned and said “Hey, I just doing my job. I bet there is something interesting we can find in there.”

“Did anyone know about it?” Masami asked as curiosity was all over her.

“I don’t know but I think the librarian and the headmaster knows about it for sure,” Jun answered as she looked at the counter with interest, and then looked at Masami and Nino.

“So do you brave enough to join me breaking the school’s vault at night?”
